Along the beautiful Conway Riverewalk, are two places to hold ceremonies and receptions. The Peanut Warehouse, and The Sidewheeler. Unlike the Peanut Warehouse, Sidewheeler has both heat and air conditioning. An important consideration depending on the time of year. What I love most about this place, is that it is a blank slate. Basically a building, dance floor, porch and kitchen. You can create your own dreams! It is neutral, so easy to decorate any way you want. You’ll need to hire a caterer, because they have no staff or food services, but well worth the extra efforts.
Typically for the Sidewheeler, the ceremony is held right on the Riverwalk, and your formal pictures will be taken there. It’s right on the Wacammaw River, and truly beautiful anytime of year. This wedding was in November.
It rents (in 2011) for about $700. You need to contact Jerry Cox company to make your reservation. 843 248-2227. You will also need to contact the city to get a permit for your ceremony on the Riverwalk. They have no website, but this place is a great little secret!
